My twin sister Brenda and I did not plan to attend the prom, especially after my friend Andrea and I found out that the the school board passed a measure in which any senior found drunk at the prom would be barred from graduation. But then my sister accepted an invitation from football star Tony Miller, and Andrea called me at the last minute after her date Jordan got the flu. Our friend Donna was very surprised when her mother gives her permisson to stay out all night. Also, our friend David, who was two years behind us in school but somehow ended up becoming a senior when we did, rented a hotel room for the night. His dad Mel served champagne at a pre-prom party, and everyone drank except for Dylan, the coolest guy in school but also a problem drinker, and Andrea, who was a square. Donna got drunk (partially because she also hadn't eaten all day, or any day that week for that matter, and partially because she was nervous about making it with David) and became very ill. At prom, she made a total drunken fool out of herself, so the gang tried to sneak her out of the hotel, but she fainted right in front of Mrs. Teasley! Can you imagine??!! Andrea and I ended up checking out the hotel room that Tony had presumptuously reserved, and Andrea got a little carried away, if you know what I mean. She was even more into me than the girls back in Minnesota! But the story had a happy ending because I organized a school walk-out in support of Donna Martin & the West Beverly Dress Code... so eventually we all got to graduate together. We all partied at the Pit afterwards, and much frivolity was enjoyed by all.
